Miranda Kerr: The Angel

As she walked down the runway, the spectators looked at her with their jaws dropped and their eyes sparkling, clearly in awe. She was elegant yet alluring; sophisticated yet full of life. At the edge of the runway she smiled, revealing a set of pearl-white, perfect teeth. And then came the display of her dimples and to finish, she did her trademark wink. Everybody couldn’t contain their admiration; they simply stood up and saluted her with a round of applause.
Sweet. Sexy. Charming. Exotic. Captivating. Flawless. An angel.
All of this points to Miranda May Kerr, an Australian supermodel. She is famous for being one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Every year, she’s one of the models who grace the lingerie giant’s runway with their goddess-like figures.
Since she was a child, she was a supporter of healthy-living. She enjoyed reading books about nutrition so much that she was resolved to become a nutritionist when she grows up. Although Miranda didn’t get the career she wanted, she was able to study nutrition and healthy psychology before pursuing modeling.
Today she continues to live a healthy lifestyle by doing yoga, light jogging and maintaining a diet of steamed vegetables, fresh fruits and fish. In 2009, she launched her own brand of organic skincare products, Kora organics.
Miranda is seen in as one of the most gifted personalities in the industry. She already received countless praises coming from prominent photographers and editors-in chief. Everybody wants to be Miranda. Furthermore, she married Hollywood heartthrob and English actor Orlando Bloom, who was Miranda’s beau for 3 years.
Until now, Miranda encourages everyone to live a healthy life. She also often emphasize (whenever she gets the chance) to the young girls to never be afraid or be ashamed of who you are. As she once said, “I want to encourage women to brace their own uniqueness. Because just like a rose is beautiful, so is a sunflower, so is a peony. All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too.”

Lily Collins: Modern-day Snow White

Lily Jane Collins, rings a bell? Maybe her name sounds familiar to you because this lady here comes from another noble show business family. As part of the Collins family, a family of talented models, actors and singers, Lily was expected to achieve great heights in her career.
Lily passed her family’s expectations with flying colors as she starred in blockbuster movies such as ‘The Blind Side’ and ‘Priest’. She could have even been in the Twilight Saga as Isabella Swan had she not lost to Kristen Stewart for the role. It happened again during her audition for the role of snow white for the movie ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, but fortunately this time, she got the other role of Snow White in ‘Mirror Mirror’ starring alongside A-lister Julia Roberts.
Lily rose to fame with her breakthrough movie ‘Mirror Mirror’ where she played the role of a feisty princess (yes, different from the traditional Snow White). She did a great job and the movie earned millions of bucks.
After that, Lily became famous for her regal charms. Her thick eyebrows also became her trademark and made her stand out among the rest. During an interview, the interviewer inquired about her eyebrows. Lily answered, “It used to bother me-having bigger, fuller eyebrows. I even plucked them once just to fit in, but I hated them and couldn’t wait for them to grow back. Now I embrace them.  I realized the quirky things that make you different are the things that make you beautiful.”
Behind the camera lens, Lily is just another teenage girl. She’s someone who values education so much. She enjoys traveling and while studying, she often visited places she learned about to further her knowledge. She also has a huge collection of antiques and vintage possessions.
Furthermore, Lily doesn’t only have the talent, but also the heart and the wits. The young lady designed accessories, including ballet flats which she named after her grandmother, in support of a charity providing low-cost counseling in 2008. Lily not only has the talent for acting, she also has one for writing. In fact, she began writing a column (NY Confidential) for the British magazine Elle Girl in her teens, as well as contributing to Teen Vogue, Seventeen and the Los Angeles magazine. She went on to college to major in Broadcast Journalism in the University of Southern California.
What message does Lily send to all of us? It is to never change ourselves for the entertainment or pleasure of others and to embrace all our flaws. We should believe in ourselves because it’s what makes us whole. Also, she shows us that the value of education is priceless. At the end of the day, everything can be stolen from you, but not the education you attained.

Emily VanCamp: The Sweet Avenger

Emily Irene VanCamp is one of the actresses gifted with rich, expressive
faces. She got those pair of big, innocent eyes that tells you ‘I’m harmless’ and yet you feel like you’ll be pierced the moment you let your guard down.

Off-screen, Emily loves to capture things and memories in her lenses. In fact, when she was first cast in ‘Everwood’, her first big splurge was on a F100 Nikon Camera. She indulges in activities like ballet dancing and horseback riding.  To add to list of talents Emily has, she speaks fluent French and Spanish. She is also a big hockey fan and is especially rooting for the Montreal Canadiens team.
Emily snatched the television spotlight when the TV series ‘Revenge’ released its pilot episode. From the very start, she played the role magnificently, bringing out two personalities in one character. She could portray an angel and a devil at the same time. Emily’s character portrayal intensified the show and this made the viewers look forward to every episode.
Emily shows us one thing, that is, versatility can be your strength. It can take up a lot of your courage to adapt to the real world, most especially in a society where the watchful eyes of the citizens constantly pass judgment on you.

Blake Lively: The Living Barbie

With such a small and refined waist, perfectly shaped hips, chest and bottoms, Blake seems like a walking doll. And who would forget those legs? Yes, Blake’s pair of long, gorgeous legs which often snatches the attention of many eyes even in the Hollywood scene.
Blake Christina Lively, unlike several celebrities who started from nothing, was born in a family of show business nobility- her father is a film director, her mother a talent manager and her siblings are actors and actresses. Before entering the acting arena, Blake lived as a regular student…well, a busy regular student, that is. While in high school, she juggled the task of a class president, a cheerleader, a choir member and a student government officer.
Her first film (and work) was the movie ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ in 2005. Blake was the perfect person for the role of Bridget. In fact, she was so perfect that even without big references or even auditioning, she landed the part. According to Blake, all she did was walk in and leave a photo of herself. It was clear that she was the Bridget the producers were looking for.
Blake is best known for her pair of long legs, her husky voice and her beauty mark under her right eye. In 2007, her career ratings catapulted when she got to play the role of Gossip Girl’s Serena Van Der Woodsen, the best friend of Upper East Side’s Queen Bee, Blair Waldorf. Aside from her beauty and acting skills, she has even made the women around the world even more jealous of her when she snatched Hollywood hottie and A-lister Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds was Blake’s boyfriend for 11 months and they successfully tied the knot last year.
What we can learn from this beauty is humility. She proves to us that even though you’re already being showered with blessings, staying humble is still the best thing to do.

Katy Perry: The Blue-Eyed Champion

“Now I’m floating like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero.”

These lines from Katy’s song “Roar” sure describe without fail her timeline in Hollywood. Katy is one of the strongest and most influential women in the industry.
Katheryn Elizabeth “Katy” Hudson is a daughter of pastor parents. Raised in a deeply religious family, her first experience of performing was singing in the church. At the age of 15, Katy’s passion for singing burned in her heart and she badly wanted to go to Hollywood to try her luck.
Unfortunately, her parents, being servants of the church, was strongly against the idea. But the fire burning in Katy’s heart cannot simply be extinguished, so she decided to run away from home and went to Las Vegas. When her parents learned of this, they were demented. They automatically labeled Katy as the black sheep among their children and threatened to disown her. Luckily, Katy’s two siblings were caring and loving ones and continued supporting Katy.
Katy’s road to success wasn’t shiny and smooth; it was rough and full of boulders. But even though Katy’s parents labeled her as the odd one, God never left her side. The success earned by Katy after many years of perseverance was proof of this.

Katy’s popularity topped the charts after the release of her controversial song “I Kissed a Girl”. Although this raised the eyebrows of her parents, the song proved a smash, hitting the number one spot in several countries. Furthermore, when her single “Last Friday Night” from her hit album “Teenage Dream” went number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2011, the album became only the second album after Michael Jackson’s “Bad” to generate five number one singles. Katy became the first ever female artist to achieve this feat.
Over the years, Katy proved to be anything but ordinary. She became known in the industry for her trademark contralto vocal range, colorful wigs and outfits. She graced several magazines covers as one of the most desirable women of the century. She even had lunch with First Lady Michelle Obama on her 28th birthday. Furthermore, she became engaged and married with famous British actor and comedian Russel Brand in 2009. Between their engagement and marriage, Katy’s happiness was transparent and can be seen in the way her eyes sparkled.
Unfortunately, life proved yet again that you can’t have everything. In 2011, Russel filed a divorce against Katy. Katy was devastated. Everyone saw how broken Katy was and her fans hated that period of time.
Eventually, she moved on. Little by little, the bubbly Katy came back to life with the help of her family, friends and fans. People celebrated Katy’s coming back to life and Katy’s success skyrocketed even higher.
If there’s anything to learn from Katy’s story, it is to stay strong no matter how huge are the challenges that crosses your path because there will always be someone at your side cheering you forward, whether it be a family, a friend, a fan or even the superior being himself.
